Cleveland Condensing Type Cabinet (ASTM D 4585) -- Humidity Test
This test is primarily intended to determine the water resistance
of organic coatings by controlled condensation. Condensation is
produced by exposing the test surface of the sample to a heated,
saturated mixture of air and water vapor, while the reverse side
of the sample is cooled to room temperature air. The resulting heat
transfer causes the vapor to condense on the test surface. The water
temperature is maintained at 120° F (49° C). Effects such
as color change, blistering, loss of adhesion, softening, or embrittlement
are observed and reported.
