Fatigue Testing of Fiber Reinforced Ceramics - ASTM C 1360

To request a quotation for any test e-mail info@trl.com for a prompt reply

Touchstone has capability for ASTM C1360 at room temperature, ASTM C1359 at elevated temperature, and numerous other test methods.

ASTM C1360 is used to determine constant-amplitude, axial tension-tension cyclic fatigue behavior and performance of continuous fiber-reinforced advanced ceramic composites (CFCCs) at ambient temperatures.

Different test specimen geometries for fiber reinforced ceramics at room temperature are available, along with different testing modes (displacment, force, or strain control). Also, various testing rates and frequencies are possible.

The primary application for this test methods is for advanced ceramic matrix composites with continuous fiber reinforcement. Uni-directional, bi-directional, and tri-directional reinforced samples may be tested. Additionally, glass (amorphous) matrix composites are applicable.
