MECHANICAL TESTING LABORATORY

Due to the very large number of tests offered, descriptions of those most commonly requested have been gathered into the following groups:

ASTM E2004 – Facing Cleavage of Sandwich Panels

To request a quotation for any test email info@trl.com for a prompt reply

This test method covers the determination of the cleavage force to peel stiff facings from sandwich panels.

The results from this test method can be used to determine how well the facing is bonded to the core. This test method works well with flexible facings.

Specimens are mounted into the loading blocks with pins so that they are able to swivel during load application. Load is applied to the specimen. The peak load, average load, load-deflection curves and description of failure mode are reported. The four different types of failure modes are adhesive failure, bond failure, core failure or mixed mode failure.

Please email info@trl.com or call (304) 547-5800 for information regarding test procedures, results, specimen information, pricing or any other ASTM E2004 questions you may have.
