ASTM C1360 is used to determine constant-amplitude, axial tension-tension cyclic fatigue behavior and performance of continuous fiber-reinforced advanced ceramic composites (CFCCs) at ambient temperatures. Touchstone has the capability for ASTM C1360 at room temperature as well a modified version for testing at elevated temperatures up to 2500 °F.
Different test specimen geometries for fiber reinforced ceramics at room temperature are available, along with different testing modes (displacement, force, or strain controlled). Also, various testing rates and frequencies are possible.
The primary application for this test method is for advanced ceramic matrix composites with continuous fiber reinforcement. Uni-directional, bi-directional, and tri-directional reinforced samples may be tested. Additionally, glass (amorphous) matrix composites are applicable.
Please email info@trl.com or call (304) 547-5800 for information regarding test procedures, results, specimen information, pricing or any other ASTM C1360 questions you may have.
