Cryogenic Heat Treatment via Microhardness Tester

Touchstone is equipped to perform virtually any thermal excursion with its combination of furnaces and cryogenic chambers.
Both deep and shallow cryogenic tempering studies can be performed on steel, aluminum or brass alloys. Not only can these studies be performed on samples in furnaces, ovens and cryogenic chambers but many of these studies can be performed in Touchstone’s hot microhardness tester which is equipped with a light microscope, high temperature furnace, cryogenic cooling as well as microhardness capability.
Touchstone also has cryogenic chambers attached to servohydraulic fatigue machines allowing for static or dynamic mechanical loading of samples during thermal profiling. The laboratory is also capable of thermal fatigue studies.
